Best and Worst redesigns of the New 52. The Worst

 

It’s been about two years since DC relaunched with the New 52 and I decided it was time to Look back and see the best and worst designs that spun out of it. We’ll start off with the five worst designs. 

New Strider game!

Old news by now, but Capcom has announced a new Strider game! They’re calling it Strider HD and it’s suppose to be a reboot telling the tale of the first two Strider games. It’s coming out on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC.

Herlock- Top 5 Underrated comics of the New 52

Right off the bat I’ll say I don’t read all the of the new 52 from DC so don’t get bent out of shape if your favorite comic is not the list. This is a  list of comics I feel are the most overlooked out of the new 52 and need as much attention as possible to avoid being cancelled.

5. The Batloggery- I have been a huge fun of the Batman and Robin comic that was just made and to show support I made a very nice plain banner incase you couldn’t tell I got rid of the batmobile in the back because it just looked lame to have it in with Batman and Robin, I felt that just the two would look nicer.

4. Ryu Banner- Just nothing but, a good picture of Ryu and some font that I liked and it’s probably the only banner I worked on the least but, there is just something about it that I just love and I didn’t even want to to mess with it,just added some SF looking font and just settled……

3. The Legend of Dhalsim: a Link to the Yoga- Ryu and Dhalsim are my favorite SF characters and when I stumbled upon this idea I saw a bunch of awesome Dhalsim pics that would look really cool if I added Link’s equipment to it. The idea of this came when I wanted to put something different on my backlog besides my usual Herlock shtick at the time and I thought Legend of Zelda would kinda cool but, it was already done like, on everyone else’s backlog and I didn’t want to fall in to just another Zelda banner group, so I got a little creative, found someone way cooler than Link and just replaced him…..with Dhalsim. In the end I was a little surprised that it turned out ok, which I was pleased with (I actually busted my ass on the hat part, you can see where I had to smudge a little on the bottom part of the hat). One more thing about this as well, it’s actually the second Legend of Dhalsim banner(The first one was ok but, this one blows it out of the water).

2.Trigun- Trigun is one of my most favorite anime’s of all time and I love the crazy way Yasohiro Nightow draws his fucking crazy action scenes in the manga so I found this image http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww191/Capt_Herlock/3vash.jpg and modded it a bit, I added the text in the backgrounds and in the glasses I also did a close up on the hand since I wanted to show Vash and his face I thought his hand should be leveled with everything else….so I fixed that. This another banner that took a little time to do because I really wanted to to look nice.

1.The Infamous Cho Aniki Banner- This banner is number 1 for the shear fact that it got me noticed by a lot of people overnight (seriously). It is also on of the most ridiculous banners I have ever made and it was loved by many people (right guys?)and I like to think that I pushed a few copies of the game over Virtual Console (I know I made one person get it).I also like to think that for a time when people mentioned my name they would say “Oh, that Cho Aniki guy.” and at the time when we still had member of the week a lot people were really pulling for this banner to get me the honor but, I gotta serious for a second, do you think it would be wise to have a website where the front page links you to a page with a banner with half-naked dudes flexing (YES YES YES!!!), WAIT, WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING OF COURSE, it would be more than wise…… nah. To close it the reason this banner is number one is because a lot of the fun times I had here at this backloggery (not leaving) involved this banner or something Cho Aniki so I have to give it up to the banner that started it all.

That’s right, I’m done it’s all done, If I can get loco to draw my shit Jan. 23rd 2010 will be an awesome day and celebrate the release of the long awaited backlog comic (maybe if I can get my shit together and the comic is kick ass I’ll release the already finished epic Backloggery superheroes comic) but, of course let’s wait and see.

Big news regarding the comic 10-11-09

After much thought I have decided to re-do the backlog comic and axe the super heroics from the story, sorry for any one who wanted the other story but, to be quite honest I don’t think the story was that good so try to understand. Thanks!

Part 1 Finished, Origin of the Backlog comic and Plans for after Part 2.

So, for the most part the first story is finished being written and I have already started outlining Part 2, which in my opinion is starting to look much better and will feature more crazy action than the first story because it will feature  40+ backloggers all going nuts (well,some of them). I might as well explain this comic while I’m writing all this to to give evryone the heads up. The Backlog comic was created by my mad love for comics and my crazy desire to write with restrictions (meaning I work well when people give me something to work with). I was in the middle of writing a comic I had been doing for a very long time and had completely done I all I could with it so I got out of touch with writing.

In the middle of last year a friend of mine told me of a backlogging site for video games I was interested but, busy and forgot about it multiple times. Luckily, he wouldn’t shut up about it, so one night while surfing the web on my new monitor I had just got for Christmas and while browsing the web I remembered the site Backloggery.com. It wasn’t bad, not that spectacular but, it was fun, it wasn’t until I met the more popular members that my backlogging career really took off. It was fun getting to know the Backloggers, there was Minty who was the first person who I added to the friends list (not including my real life friend) and Sobou and Derkomai who added me to their list of friends very quickly. Going to the Try and Drum streams is where most of my Backlogger friends and I met up.  For a time, I showed up at everyone’s streams just talking to random people when a topic that I had any knowledge in would pop up. There were also times when I would just have a stream on and just watch so I decided that if wasn’t talking I might as well keep my hands busy so I picked up my pen and began to write whatever was on my mind.

Instead of writing stories I mostly just wrote down ideas while people were talking in chats and I would hear stuff while Try and Drum were streaming that sounded pretty funny and I would write it down and put my own spin on it, there were also times where I heard something funny and then after a while it just sounded dumb. One night after I left one of Hojo’s streams (my friend in real life) I got home and turned on my computer logged in to the stream and noticed a man by the name of eltipejoloco who had apparently mistaken Hojo for me but, I also noticed he had a channel with a ghetto setup, it was just me and one other person(not to sure) but, I stuck around for a bit before leaving to go to sleep. I noticed he was showing up for some other streams and before I knew it he was on the backloggery site and had a really cool looking banner, I asked if he had made it and said yes, it wasn’t long when I decided to friend him and I even got to be a mod on his channel. One day during a Backlog stream Derkomai starts to ramble about some backlog drawing I decided to check it out and it looked awesome and I was kinda upset that I went early that night but, I was even more upset when I found out that I was going to be in it but my friends(who have known me for years by the way) couldn’t describe me to Loco(apparently, tall guy with Brown hairand a five a’ clock shadow is just to crazy to remember). Eventually, I showed up in a drawings and I loved how they turned out.

During this time, I just got laid off and was unemployed but, I still had a budget for comics and I still had a pile of them from when I was busy working so I decided I should start getting them put away before I got buried in them. I don’t remember exactly what happened but, I decided to write another comic(probably because I had a stack of comics that had been in a pile because I was working so much) but, I had the itch to write another comic but, I didn’t know where to start from I knew I liked Super-Heroes but, there are so damn many and how would I make them unique? I looked to the backlog for help but, before I even asked anyone I knew what I was going to do, get The backloggers and make them super-heroes in a comic book. Luckily, Everyone was very excited about this project which made me more happy to write it and before long I had a huge list of people going and someone(I forget who) asked, “who is going to draw it?” I wasn’t sure because I never really drew my old stuff I just write it so incase I wanted to make it a comic I would have something. Someone mentioned Loco, I thought ” no way, this guy has better things to do” and sure enough Loco pops in and says “sure” and that would be the first time I ever had to work with an artist on anything.

Well, there you go the origin of the Backloggery comic book, Surprisingly there was a few things I left out that I just felt weren’t important but, anyway on to the last thing. I have tried asking people if they wanted to be in the comic message me however, no one does and I have to go and get them myself so, plans for after Part 2 I already have the Two main characters in mind and if I see random cool people on Backloggery I will ask them too so yes, I will now be hunting people down for the comic. Now I shall go, I think I have written enough and hopefully people wanna read this(BECAUSE I POURED MY HEART AND SOUL INTO THIS ONE).

Top Ten Street Fighter Characters

Ok, next My Top Ten list will be Street Fighter and it will hopefully make SF2 fans happy because they rule the list so Now I shall make the list

10. Yun and Yang- I like these guys, They are the  two coolest characters in in Third Strike. PERIOD.

9. Dhalsim- It’s the yoga man, when I saw this guy in the arcade I shit my self, basically if you want to be a bitch and run away he will stretch  and kick your ass! and that is why you don’t be a bitch. NEXT!

8. Guile- First Charge Character and first turtle Character and……………………he’s American! FUCK YEAH!

7. Ken- a clone but, with a more deadly punch then Ryu and Ryu’s best bud this guy will always be on a top ten list

6. Dan- because he’s Dan GODDAMNIT!!

5. Sagat- The first boss of Street Fighter and Ryu’s Deadly rival the king of Muai Thai is still one of the most deadly characters in Street Fighter game to this day.

4. Chun-Li- she has to be here, she is the first playable female character in fighting games and one of the fastest characters in the game

3. M. Bison (Dictator)- this guy is just pure evil and he will kill you with Psycho Crusher and is the center of a lot of the conflicts going on in SF.

2. Vega (Claw)- this one was tough and a lot of people would disagree however, I think Vega has such a unique design I can’t ignore him and his whole personally is just classic.

1. Ryu- this comes at no surprise, Ryu is THE original Street Fighter and he never stops training. He gained a lot of recognition (in the in-game story)   when he defeated Sagat and Scarred his chest with the Shoryuken. Ryu travels the world and defeats anyone who picks a fight with him but, most be careful that he does not get consumed by the Satsui no hado.

Top Ten Mortal Kombat Characters

Ok, on to the second list, this one will be a lot easier to handle because the characters are actually awesome and amazing back stories and I actually give a fuck about the series itself. On to the list………….

10. Sonya Blade- First lady of MK and shows up in just about every installment one of the first ladies of fighting along with Chun-li.

9. Johnny Cage- want a guy who is an ass but, can back it up when it comes to fighting?  Cage is your man, he has been dead once but, that didn’t fuckin’ stop him.

8. Kano- Australia has some of the worst people right? This leader of the Black Dragon clan is a ruthless Mother Fucker and also has a part-time job as a general is Shao Khan’s Army. HOLY SHIT.

7.Kung Lao- A shaolin Monk on the side of good and has a dope ass hat for cutting up all that Threatens Earthrealm and has skills on par with Liu Kang.

6. Kabal- Dopest looking good guy-turned-bad-guy most people forgot about him but, not me. This guy was awesome when he debuted in MK3 Then, just went missing for awhile hopefully he will show up in the new Kombat game.

5. Kitana- another character who is awesome, Kitana has just about been in every MK game sans MK Deception. Fights on the side of good and stepdaughter to Shao Kahn my my….

4. Rayden- So much shit could be put here but, I want to keep it short, Rayen is the protector of Earthrealm and fights along the side of good against Shang Tsung in the first Mortal Kombat tournament.

3. Sub-Zero- My favorite MK Character and one of the first Ninja’s to be palette-swapped. One of the original MK character to be a hit along with……….

2. Scorpion- Another popular Ninja when MK debuted and also has an awesome backstory to back it up I would explain it but, it’s a mouth full and I have to keep this small.

1. Liu Kang- I don’t  want to here what you think about Liu because he is one of the most Important main Characters in Fighting games Ever and many times saved Earthrealm from evil Sub-Zero ans Scorpion may be awesome but, Liu Kang is in his own awesome class that can’t be obtained.

Top Ten King of Fighters Characters

After the appalling Game Informer Top Ten Fighting game Characters list I have decided to make my own list from multiple different series. First one being the King of Fighters games you my not like it but, I’m going to do one anyway. Number 10!

10. Kyo Kusanagi- One of my favorites and not much to say about him really he is just cool

9. Iori Yagami- Kyo’s enemy and overall badass of the series Iori plays a big role in KOF making his place on this list required

8. Terry Bogard- It’s Terry Fucking Bogard if he wasn’t on this list I’d shoot my self, Terry is the old timer and Mentor to his greatest enemy’s son, Rock Howard

7. Joe Higashi- Like Dan from SF only he doesn’t suck and is actually one of the best fighter’s in the game oddly enough he was the most awesome in CvS2 (Capcom vs SNK2)

6. Duck King- There is a reason Duck King is my Xbox Live avatar he is easily one of my favorite characters and I don’t think he is that important to the story but , he is just awesome.

5. Ash Crimson-  World’s most powerful trap, he walks and acts like a chick but, don’t underestimate this ladyboy he’ll beat your ass with his Guile Style of play (also another one of my favorites.)

4. Rock Howard- Son of Geese Howard, Trained by Terry and also one of the most popular Fighting game characters out there.

3. Ryo Sakazaki- I may not like Ryo but, he deserves a spot on the list for for being in the First KOF tournament and busting up bad guys to save his sister However, ever since SNK re-did the time line I’m not sure anymore but, whatever.

2. Geese Howard- This guy is an ass, Kills Andy and Terry’s father and tries to become Immortal but, Terry kicks his ass twice finally killing him the second time.

1. Rugal Bernstein- Talk about a bad guy, made arms and still wanted more power, Died only to came back as Omega Rugal and was killed by his own evil powers. this guy was just made of pure evil.
